Who doesn't love a good ice cream float? They're so delicious and fun to make for any occasion. This Leprechaun Float is tasty and easy to make with lemon lime soda, green food coloring and vanilla ice cream. Top it off with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles or a rainbow candy strip for the perfect St. Patrick's Day treat.
Ever since I introduced my kids to an ice cream float they're often asking for "one of those special drinks." It's a fun, easy treat that they can help make themselves. My oldest daughters favorite part is adding in the food coloring and watching it change colors. Sometimes we get a little heavy handed and end up with very vibrant colors, but that just makes it more special, right? We made a red Cupid's Raspberry Lemonade Ice Cream Float for Valentines Day so of course we had to make one green for St. Patrick's Day. The sweet ice cream with fizzy lemon lime soda is so delicious even my husband and I love to make these for ourselves.
These Leprechaun Ice Cream Floats are a fun treat to make for you and your family or make up a large batch for a kid friendly party drink. All you need is Mini Trix Rainbow Treats and Magically Delicious Lucky Charm Snack Mix for the ultimate St. Patricks Day party food.
Can't wait to have one of these delicious drinks? These Leprechaun Ice Cream Floats are adaptable to any holiday! Simply change the color of food coloring you use and top with whatever holiday or theme sprinkles you like.
Ice Cream Float Variations:
Easter: Make them pink or purple and top with bunny marshmallows or Easter sprinkles.
4th of July: Use blue food coloring and top with red sprinkles for a red, white and blue treat.
Halloween: Make it orange and add pumpkin or black sprinkles on top.
Christmas: Keep it green but add red sprinkles to the top for a Grinch treat.
