American Flag S'mores Dip

If you've never had s'mores dip you're missing out. It's a yummy dessert made with only 3 simple ingredients of chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers for dipping. Take this dip to 'extra' level and make it an American Flag for your Memorial Day or 4th of July party. This American Flag S'mores Dip looks so impressive and festive plus it's so good your friends and family will ask for it every year.

American Flag S'mores Dip comes together in under 10 minutes for a mouthwatering dessert. Let's take a look at what you'll need and how to make it.

  • Chocolate - I used milk chocolate bars for a sweeter dip but a darker chocolate would work as well. Or a chocolate bar with caramel in it would be delectable.

  • Marshmallows - You'll want to use the regular sized large marshmallows.

  • Sanding Sugar - Red and Blue sanding sugar is what makes this s'mores dip festive. Dip your marshmallows in the sanding sugar to make the blue stars and red stripes of the American Flag.

  • Graham crackers - Break graham cracker sheets into sticks for the perfect dipper.

To make American Flag S'mores Dip start by placing chocolate in the bottom of a baking dish. Fill a small bowl with water, another small bowl with red sanding sugar and another bowl with blue sanding sugar. Dip the end of each marshmallow in water first and then into the sanding sugar to coat. Start with with blue and fill in the upper left corner of your pan to create the stars of the flag. Then place a stripe of red followed by a row of marshmallows without any sugar to create your white stripe. Continue until your pan is full. Bake at 425 degrees for 5-6 minutes until chocolate is melted and marshmallows are soft and slightly toasted. Serve with graham crackers sticks.

American Flag S'mores Dip



  • 3 milk chocolate bars

  • 48 marshmallows

  • Blue and red sanding sugar

  • Graham crackers for serving


  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

  • Place chocolate in the bottom of a 9x10 baking dish in a single layer.

  • Prepare 3 small bowls, 1 with water, 1 with red sanding sugar and 1 with blue sanding sugar.

  • Dip the end of a marshmallow in the water then in the sanding sugar.

  • Place sugar side up on top of chocolate in pan.

  • Repeat with each marshmallow in blue and red leaving the marshmallows for the white stripes plain until your pan is full and you have an American Flag.

  • Bake at 425 degrees for 5-6 minutes until chocolate is melted and marshmallows are slightly toasted.

  • Serve immediately with graham crackers for dipping.
